Can Mental Health Medications Affect Your Pineal Gland? Yes, They Can But…

This is something that is a real concern for a lot of people who are trying to progress through their Spiritual Awakening and sometimes the concern is real. Any food or medicine that affects your production of Melatonin is affecting your Pineal Gland aka The Third Eye.

It can cause a wide range of symptoms that can include:

  • Lack of sleep
  • too much sleep
  • nightmares
  • Vivid dreams
  • night terrors
  • can cause temporary loss of psychic abilities
  • mental fogginess

That is just to name a few symptoms of a melatonin imbalance caused by medications but while they are inconvenient they aren’t usually serious or long lasting and you can relieve the symptoms.

To start with, I did a quick goggle search and got this statement:

Psychotropic drugs, particularly antidepressants both tricyclics and monoamine oxidase inhibitors when administered either to animals or to patients suffering from depressive illness affects the pineal gland function and melatonin concentration

The Pineal Gland is the gland in your body that produces Melatonin and therefore is responsible for sleep. Sleep has a lot to do with your abilities because many times, our abilities are strongest when we are really sleepy because our Brain goes into Theta Waves and that is what opens the door to your psychic senses to come through.

Don’t skip your meds!

I don’t point this out to keep you from taking your meds, please keep taking them but you can counter the effect by taking Melatonin supplements. It’s generally safe but to make sure always ask your Dr. or Pharmacist before taking anything if you are currently taking a prescription medication.

Some types of mental illness can be caused by the imbalance of hormone secretions and medication is a quick & easy answer to mild cases of Depression & Bipolar disorder and other diagnoses’ of mental health issues. It can get your body flowing naturally again the way it should naturally and especially with other therapeutic treatments such as the activities below:

  • Yoga
  • Meditation
  • Energy Healing
  • Natural Eating
  • Creative Hobbies
  • Sound Therapy
  • Light Therapy

You can feel better sooner with simple lifestyle choices that may be hard to pull yourself into at first but once they become habit the pattern is set and they become more enjoyable. Yoga is a big mood booster and so is Light Therapy, I highly recommend both.

Research your own specific medicines and see what effects they may be having on your Pineal Health. If you find that you are taking something that suppresses the Gland don’t panic, many people are in your shoes and have found healthy ways to stimulate Pineal Gland Function while still taking their meds. There is ALWAYS a solution!
